Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth without Compromising Your Health

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatAllah wa barakatuhu
May the peace and blessings of Allah SWT be upon you

So you have a sweet tooth? Try adding nutrient-filled sweet treats (yes, treats!) to your meals. Ideas? Beets, corn, sweet potatoes, mangoes. I guarantee your cravings will not only be satisfied, but you'll be eating something good for you. Talk about a win-win situation.

Here are two recipes to get you going:

6. Add a small dash of sea salt
7. You can get creative and add other natural herbs (dried basil, oregano, black pepper, etc)

  • 1 Tablespoon EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Cold Pressed)
  • 2 Tablespoons Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh Cilantro Leaves

  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

P.S. Be proud of yourself for kicking refined sugar to the curb. Refined sugar as we know it today (white powder) was first made in 1300, in India. A study in France also has shown that it is 4x more addictive than cocaine. Tobacco kills 5 million a year, but refined sugar kills 35 millions. Not so sweet, is it?

Anyway, my goal here is not to make you feel morbid. My goal is to give you solutions. :) Yay, we love those, right?

Enjoy, inshaAllah (Godwilling)!

Yasmin :)
